Very good value
Quality
Rower is good quality, monitor could be modernized. Monitor eats batteries/doesn't power down after use, disappointing lack of on/off capability. Removing batteries daily to conserve should be unnecessary today. Customer service solution didn't work. Hoping for a warranty replacement with a unit that powers down after use. Foot rests can be distracting if feet not secured just right, but straps are lock-down tight. Found a session on water level 1 is sufficient to exceed the resistance on a Concept2 with dampers at 5.

Stand behind their products
Quality
We have been using the ERG600W rower for two years, and it tipped over one evening in January. The tank, which is really very solid was cracked, and we had some trouble sealing it again. Although we were able to get it serviceable using a rubberized spray sealant, XTERRA sent us a brand new unit within 1month of our contacting them by phone. We are amazed at this kind of customer loyalty.

Extremely pleased
Quality
I had been searching for a rower that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg. I had been using a rower at my gym regularly but wanted something I could use at home. I'm extremely happy with this rower. It works just as well as the one at my gym. It feels sturdy, was easy to assemble, and works great.

I was unfamiliar with the Xterra brand, but given the limited types/brands of water rowers out there, I took a chance on the ERG600W. Setup was pretty quick, and the machine feels solidly built. In short, I get great workouts for less than half the cost of the competitors. There are a few areas for improvement, including weak battery life (I physically take them out after each use) and somewhat inaccurate distance readings (big sweeps get me 9 meters, but tiny little strokes still register as 6-7 meters). Overall I'm happy with my purchase and hope the machine continues to deliver over time.

Love the purchase!

Like others, I was unsure what to make given lack of reviews, but with a little research I thought this was the best product at this price. Happy to say it's worked out very well. Delivery was fast and I was able to assemble within an hour. It has worked out perfectly for my basement, and I love rowing as much as I can. The only knock I have is that the batteries that were provided only lasted a week or two, but that's a small price to pay for a product that I know will pay dividends for a long time. Highly recommend this rower!

After all the pros and cons, researching reviews, and videos etc. I chose to go with Xterra ERG600W.
My final decision was based on it having :
1. The best warranty out of five popular models that I was looking into purchasing.
2. A solid foot placement , that's adjustible w/ secure wide straps.
3. The ball bearing rollers on the seat, that runs in a track on the side of the aluminum rail. Instead of over the top of the rail like most.(I was concerned about scratched paint with extended use use).
4. My experience on the phone with Xterra. I had multiple questions they took their time and answered all of them. When the sales rep couldn't answer the question she connected me to assembly /warehouse dept. Where a very kind man was able to answer the questions I had: regarding the blades and what looked like the bungee cord running underneath? He said "stay on the phone with me I'll walk out to the warehouse and look at one while we're on the phone together and I can answer any questions you have." I called the next day asking about ordering one and they recommended I order from Walmart online. The reason being- I would get it much sooner, it still had free delivery and with tax from Walmart it was actually cheaper than ordering from Xterra directly. Although they do ship thru Walmart, ( it came from their warehouse). She explained they preferred to sell through Walmart than directly to personal buyers only because it takes longer for the customer to get the item once they validate your credit card etc. Great customer service. It felt like a small family business that takes pride in their product. I made at least three phone calls on different days and spoke to the same people every time! I placed my order online March 7th.
It arrived today March 11th, a day early! I put it together this morning & really put it to the test. I am so pleased with this machine. The overall footprint is exactly as described but it appears more petite, which is visually pleasing to me. It is Not a big bulky piece of equipment and I am happy about that ????
I'm 4'11 and 55 years old. I was able to assemble this by myself in 45 minutes! It was very easy. I did have the handy assistance of a furniture dolly to rest the main frame on while I put the front support on and attached the track to the main frame. Step by step instructions were very easy to follow. No additional tools required everything is marked clearly for assembly.
I expected to fill it up to level one since I haven't been on a water rower in over two years maybe three. I ended up filling it to level four for a decent workout. Where I'm feeling a little burn in my legs and the back of my arms. I might just siphon some of that back out of there to level three and build up to it. The monitor was easy to use Pop the batteries in read the instructions set the time, date and go!

This rower is awesome! Great workout every time. Love hearing the water swoosh as I row. Folds up easily for storage and fits perfect in the corner of the room. Suprised how easy it is to move even on carpet. It only took me 30 minutes to put together - instructions were easy to follow.

I was skeptical at first since I couldn't find a lot of reviews when I first bought this. I’m happy I took a chance and ordered it. I’m a novice at rowing, but after doing some research I quickly knew I wanted a water rower and not an air rower to eliminate more noise and to have a more therapeutic sound while using the machine. When I started looking at water rowers, it seemed like I’d have to spend $1,000+ to get anything decent. I was happy to find it for half the cost as the name brand rowers. It came packaged really well and wasn’t missing any parts... the hardest part was loading it inside the house and getting all the pieces out! Definitely glad my husband put it together, the directions were straight forward. It rolls nice on our carpet, and after testing it out, everything moves very smoothly and doesn’t feel cheap or inexpensive at all. I feel like I got a good deal on this.

This rower is on par with the best

I love this rower. I was skeptical about ordering a brand-new model with little to no reviews. After receiving it, I knew I had made a great decision. I ordered this on the Xterrafitness website for less than the Amazon price. It shipped the next day and 5 days letter, it was mine. This thing is packaged like a beast. The box is doubled walled and arrived with no visible outside damage. The contents were packed so securely, it would have taken a lot of mishandling to damage it. I inspected every part and did not find a dent, scratch or ding. Assembly took me about 45 minutes. The Owner’s Manual was one of the better ones I have used. It was easy to read, laid out well and had no confusing mistranslated English. The hardware blister pack was on point and included the wrenches needed. Each blister was numbered to coincide with the assembly step. Even when the same part was used in different steps, they were blistered and numbered separately. Once assembled, this rower really started to shine. The seat is comfortable. The slide is smooth. The tank fills easily, comes with a funnel to fill and siphon pump to drain. You even get water purification tablets. There are no creaks or odd noises other than the relaxing sound of water, almost like you are rowing on a lake. It is very quiet compared to a fan rower. The rower is extremely stable. I have not experienced any side to side movement and the back feet are adjustable, in case you have an uneven floor. The front feet have wheels that engage, when raised, for easy moving. Even with water, it is light and lifts easily for upright storage. The display console is larger than most and adjustable. I find it easy to understand and operate. There are 3 modes, Race, Sport and Manual with multiple options for each. The water resistance level goes to 6. Initially, I was concerned this might not be enough. Then, I remembered rowing is less about how much resistance you can set and more about the duration, intensity and motion of the rowing sequence. Most ERG pros will tell you the biggest mistake they see people make is come in and set the resistance to max. These pros will work a resistance from 3-5. Bottom line, a resistance of 6 is more than adequate for the job. The workout on this is comparable to the top brands. Give it 20 minutes and you will be burnt. Because of vertigo issues, my wife did not think she could use it. She is now on it most every day. I cannot say enough good things about this rower. If you are contemplating a water rower and don’t feel the need or have the budget to spend $1000 to $2000 just for a name, I would encourage you to give this model serious consideration. IMO, you cannot go wrong. It has a decent warranty and a 60-day money back guarantee, which I doubt you will ever use. The only negative I have is that it did not come with the cardio chest strap. The console has connections for it and even has a recovery mode, but the manual says it is sold separately.
